If you are shopping around for earphones to go with your new iPhone 15 or Xiaomi 13T, we have a model you should check out. The Technics EAH-AZ80 may sound technical, but it is also good for work to life, and everything in between.

Why should you choose this over something from Apple Airpods or Sony equivalents? It is more expensive than the Airpods Pro (by RM 500) and the Sony WF-1000 XM5 (by RM 200). Well, here are five things you should know about the earphones, that may make you consider the Technics EAH-AZ80 as your wireless earphones of choice:

Signature Technics Clear Sound

The Technics AZ80 features a spectrum of audio features, building from Technic’s long knowledge of audio and sound. The AZ80 comes with Technics Hi-Fi sound quality with a powerful bass. The large 10mm free-edge aluminium alloy drivers deliver a full spectrum of sound, that makes it stand out among the pack.

The acoustic control chamber in the AZ80 also helps to create a natural but powerful bass without distorting the sound. The earphones support LDEC high-res wireless audio and Dual-hybrid Active Noise-Cancelling for clear sound when needed.

Designed for all-day comfort

The low-profile design, with a concha fit, fits snugly into your ears so you get all-day comfort while using it. Ear fatigue while using the AZ80 will be minimized thanks to the design. At the same time, the unique acoustic technology delivers great audio without compromising the sound quality.

Packed full of intuitive and smart features

The earphones also support intuitive and smart features to give you full control over the earphones. Seamlessly switch between up to three devices, while enjoying crystal-clear calls with the easy-to-use touch controls.

You also get active noise cancelling (ANC) right out of the box. Better yet, you can tune the ANC levels to your comfort levels, as well as tweak the equalizer via sliders. Not all wireless earbuds gives you this option – and coming from a brand like Technics, you know that the the audio quality will still be above par – even when tweaked to your preferences.

Wireless charging support

The Technics AZ80 has a trick up its sleeves, it supports wireless charging to top up the charge. Just place the case on top of a Qi-compatible charger for fast charging when you need it. With 15 minutes of charge, you get 70 minutes of use time with Noise Cancelling on. A full charge of the case takes about 2.5 hours via cable, or about 3.5 hours with wireless charging.

IPX4 Water Resistance

Technics has designed the AZ80 with IPX4 water resistance to stand heavy rain or an intense workout. You do not want to bring this in pouring rain, but if you get caught in a rain shower while using the AZ80, you can be assured that it will withstand the water to see another day. The IPX4 rating is only for the earphones, not the case so be warned to not let the case get wet unless you want to buy a replacement later.

Would you get the Technics EAH-AZ80 over an Apple Airpods Pro or the Sony WF-1000XM5? Stay tuned for our full review to help you make your choice.
