Earlier this year, Realme launched the Realme C55, an entry-level smartphone that despite its low price came with Mini Capsule, its own interpretation of Apple’s Dynamic Island feature. After introducing the cheaper Realme C53 shortly after, this time round, Realme is following it up with the Realme C51, their most affordable budget smartphone yet that comes with Realme’s ‘Mini Capsule’ tool.
The Realme C51 is available in just one configuration with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at RM549. You’ll be able to find it on sale from today onwards, and for those of you early birds who snag one from now till 8 October, you’ll also get a small discount, bringing the price down to just RM529. If you’re keen, the Realme C51 will be available for purchase from the official Realme store on Lazada, Shopee and TikTok as well as all official Realme retailers nationwide.
When you first look at the Realme C51, you’ll find a pretty large 6.74-inch, HD+ LCD display capable of a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 560nits. While on the top is a normal looking teardrop-style notch to house the front camera, thanks to Realme’s Mini Capsule feature, it can expand around it to display useful information like your notifications, data usage and more.
Under the hood, the Realme C51 comes with a Unisoc T612 system-on-chip, an entry-level 12nm processor that’s mated to 4GB of LPDRR4X RAM with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM available, as well as 128GB of storage space. You’ll also be able to add on up to 2TB of external storage. The Realme C51 will come with Android 13 out of the box, skinned with Realme UI T Edition over it.
In the camera department meanwhile, you’ll find a main 50MP, f/1.8 shooter on the back flanked by an unspecified AI camera while for selfies you get a 5MP, f/2.2 front camera in that teardrop notch. Other features of note include a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging, a 3.5mm audio jack and support for WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. Measuring 7.99mm thick and 186g thick, the Realme C51 will be available in Mint Green and Carbon Black colourways.
