Nothing’s CMF budget brand has made its long-awaited debut with the launch of three new products. As previously leaked, the lineup consists of a pair of wireless earbuds, a smartwatch and a GaN charger, imaginatively named the Buds Pro, Watch Pro and Power 65W GaN charger respectively.
CMF by Nothing Malaysia price and availability
The CMF brand, which stands for the industrial design principles of colour, material and finish, is aimed at “making great design more accessible” by capitalising on “Nothing’s savoir-faire to offer great value to users.” Pricing for the new products are as follows:
- CMF Buds Pro – RM239
- CMF Watch Pro – RM339
- CMF Power 65W GaN charger – RM189
All three products will go on sale on 10 October on the official Lazada store, alongside retail partners DirectD, TMT, Urban Republic, Vivid Concept, Tac Mobile and Switch Solution.
CMF Buds Pro specs and features
As the only product with equivalents in the Nothing lineup, the CMF Buds Pro are RM230 cheaper than the Nothing Ear (stick) and RM230 cheaper than the Nothing Ear (2). It certainly does not look quite as premium as the other two, ditching the transparent aesthetic for a simple earbud design housed in a circular charging case. A distinctive CMF graphic is printed on the stems.
Despite the lower price, CMF is touting active noise cancellation that’s actually more powerful than the Ear (2) at 45dB, filtering out frequencies up to 5,000Hz. Wind noise is also suppressed thanks to two optimally-positioned holes on top of the buds, along with a Wind Noise Reduction algorithm. A transparency mode is also included.
In addition, the buds use their six HD microphones and an AI noise reduction algorithm called Clear Voice Technology to isolate surrounding sounds and make you easier to hear to the other person on the line.
As for sound quality, the Buds Pro use custom drivers and a high-elasticity diaphragm, the latter made from Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) and polyurethane, for more precise and powerful bass response. This is boosted by the Ultra Bass Technology algorithm to enhance low-frequency sounds, as well as an enlarged exhaust vent in the rear chamber that improves overall sound quality.
But the most eye-catching part of the spec sheet is the battery life. With a 55mAh battery in each earbud, the Buds Pro boasts a massive 11 hours of playback on a single charge (with ANC off). This grows to a combined 39 hours with the charging case included. A Fast Charge feature provides 5 hours of listening with 10 minutes of charging.
As with Nothing’s earbuds, the CMF Buds Pro can connect to your phone via the Nothing X app, allowing you to customise the touch
controls, switch between ANC levels, adjust the equaliser and activate Low Lag Mode. The buds are available in three colours in Malaysia, these being Dark Grey, Light Grey and the signature Orange.
CMF Watch Pro specs and features
The second CMF device is the Watch Pro, a square smartwatch in a similar vein to the Apple Watch. It features a 1.96-inch 58Hz AMOLED display with a 410×502 resolution, over 600 nits of brightness and always-on display functionality. The Watch Pro offers “dozens” of custom dials—including 8 always-on options and customisable backgrounds—that utilise Nothing’s signature dot-matrix design language and orange as the highlight.
In terms of functionality, the Watch Pro is able to take calls over Bluetooth thanks to a built-in microphone and speaker and AI technology to improve call clarity. It also offers 24-hour health monitoring, measuring metrics such as heart rate and blood oxygen saturation, sleep and stress. There are also no less than 110 sports modes, along with hydration and movement reminders and personalised fitness goals. Built-in multi-system GPS provides more accurate trace and distance data for running and cycling.
Additionally, the Watch Pro delivers up to 13 days of typical use (11 days of heavy use, says CMF) thanks to the 340mAh battery, and it boasts an IP58 dust and water resistance rating. It comes with an aluminium alloy case in either Metallic Grey (with an Orange strap), Dark Grey (with a Dark Grey strap) and Dark Grey (with an Ash Grey strap). Unlike the Buds Pro, the Watch Pro uses a dedicated CMF Watch app to sync to your phone.
CMF Power 65W GaN charger specs and features
Lastly, we come to the Power 65W GaN charger, which features two USB-C ports that can deliver the full 65W—charging a Nothing Phone (2) to 50% in 25 minutes—and one USB-A port pushing out up to 36W. It supports all the major charging standards, including PD3.0, QC4.0+/3.0/2.0, SCP, FCP, PPS, AFC, Samsung 9V2A, DCP and Apple 2.4A.
It also works with MFI-certified cables and can accept between 100V to 240V. Contrary to the leaks, the Power 65W GaN charger is only available in Dark Grey—no orange here, unfortunately.
