We’ve been waiting for information on Nothing’s new CMF by Nothing budget sub-brand since CEO Carl Pei announced it last month. Well, it looks like we’ll be getting it soon, as it’s been confirmed that it will be launched in India in less than two weeks on September 26. The news was broadcast on X by Nothing India’s vice president and general manager Manu Sharma.
While the company has not released any specific details, a tweet by @TechLeaksZone outlined three CMF (which, by the way, stands for Colour, Material and Finish, the three tenets of industrial design) products that will be launched, along with leaked marketing materials for each of them. They’re all coloured in a striking orange hue, which appears to be the brand’s corporate identity.
The first product is a pair of in-ear wireless earbuds rather imaginatively called the Buds Pro, coming with a circular charging case. According to the leaks, it will have active noise cancellation with a “best-in-class” 45dB of noise reduction, along with “ultra bass” technology. However, the buds are said to only have a measly 11 hours of battery life, presumably with the charging case included.
CMF also appears to be launching a smartwatch called the Watch Pro, featuring an Apple Watch-style square display, a polished case and buckle and an orange rubber strap. The specs include a 1.96-inch AMOLED screen, “multi-system” GPS and AI noise reduction for calls.
Further details published on 91mobiles reveal that the wearable will have a 50Hz display with a peak brightness of 600 nits, a 330mAh battery providing up to 13 days of battery life, a heart rate monitor, a blood oxygen sensor, sleep tracking and stress monitoring functions, breathing exercises and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The CMF Watch Pro will apparently run on a custom OS instead of Google’s WearOS.
Lastly, CMF will be offering a 65W GaN charger in the same searing orange shade, coming with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The devices will reportedly cost INR 3,000 (around RM169), INR 3,500 (around RM197) for the Buds Pro and INR 4,500 (around RM254) for the Watch Pro.
