Together with the Honor 90, the Chinese brand also launched their new tablet, the Honor Pad X9. It’s essentially the successor to the Honor Pad X8 from last year which brings along some minor upgrades for a better overall experience.
If you were thinking of getting the Honor Pad X9, you’ll want to just wait just a little bit more, with the tablet available in Malaysia starting on 25 August onwards. There will only be one model coming to our shores with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at RM1,099.
As part of its launch promo, Honor will also throw in a free Smart Bluetooth Keyboard case worth RM299 with each purchase of the Honor Pad X9 while stocks last.
This new tablet already sees a major upgrade in performance by ditching the MediaTek MT8786 for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 system-on-chip, mated to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It runs Android 13 out of the box, skinned with MagicOS 7.1 that also has improved multi-window functionality for multitasking.
As for the display, it’s now a larger 11.5-inch, LCD display pushing a 2000 x 1200p resolution. It’s capable of a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 400nits and can go as dim as 2nits. The Honor Pad X9 gets an upgrade in the audio department too, with a six-speaker setup which includes a lightweight subwoofer unit.
Other features of note include a large 7,250mAh battery keeping the lights on, while for taking pictures or joining video calls there are a pair of 5MP, f/2.2 cameras on both sides of the tablet. There’s support for LTE, WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connectivity too, with the whole tablet weighing just 499g and measuring 6.9mm thick.
