Go swinging in style with the limited edition Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5

The upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game from Insomniac Games is likely set to be a popular title, though unfortunately it will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 only for now. If you don’t have a PlayStation 5 yet but want to play as the comic book hero as you fight against villains like Venom, Lizard and Kraven, then you can also take a look at the upcoming limited edition Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 bundle.

The new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 bundle will feature a redesigned PlayStation 5 with special cover plates over the sides. Gone are the white side plates, instead replaced with a Spider-Man themed cover depicting the symbiote tendrils that Sony says are ‘aggressively creeping closer’ to the Spider-Man logo on the bottom corner. Flip the console around and you’ll find the whole back plate ‘completely bonded’ to the symbiote.

The DualSense wireless controller has also been given a fancy new Spider-Man theme over it, with the Spider-Man logo over the touchpad and the same symbiote tendrils over the left side of the controller trying to consume the last bits of Spider-Man red on the right. Nothing quite like swinging around buildings as Spider-Man with a Spider-Man controller too right?

“The design was inspired by the in-game symbiote that’s taking over the console and controller, but you can still see some of the underlying red under the tendrils.

This represents the various ways players will experience the symbiote takeover in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a constant push and pull for dominance whether it’s internal or external and the outcome is not certain,” – Jacinda Chew, Insomniac Games Senior Art Director

The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 bundle will be available for pre-order at selected retail outlets throughout the country from 28 July onwards; you can click here to see the full list of retailers. The limited edition bundle will be launched on 15 September, though it won’t come with the game itself as it launched on 20 October—you will be able to redeem a voucher for the game by then. You’ll also be able to get all of the pre-order bonuses for Spider-Man 2 if you pre-order the bundle.

There’s no pricing details just yet though for reference, the regular PS5 starts at RM2,069 for the Digital Edition while the PS5 Physical Edition retails for RM2,499. If you prefer to just get the Spider-Man 2 cover plates or the special controller, you can also do so starting 1 September but again, the pricing details for these have not been announced just yet.
