NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti: Choose between 8GB or 16GB VRAM, starting at RM2,050

On top of the regular GeForce RTX 4060, NVIDIA has also launched not one, but two GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards. Positioned just above the RTX 4060 as the ‘1080p performance champ’, the two RTX 4060 Ti GPUs are essentially the same, with the only difference being the amount of graphics memory.

NVIDIA had been under fire by gamers for some time now due to their newer graphics cards seemingly coming with less and less graphics memory over the years. And perhaps with that in mind, the tech giant has made the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti available with 8GB or 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 128-bit memory interface width. While 8GB of VRAM will likely suffice if you’re going to stay at 1080p resolution for some time, those of you planning to test the 1440p waters may want to consider the 16GB model instead.

Other specs of the GeForce RTX 4060 TI include 4,352 CUDA cores running at 2.31GHz base clock and a boost clock of 2.54GHz. It provides 22 TFLOPS of shaders performance and as expected there’s 3rd generation RT cores and 4th generation Tensor cores too, along with DLSS 3 and AV1 support. Just like the RTX 4060, the RTX 4060 Ti is significantly more efficient than its predecessors, with a 160W TGP compared to the 200W and 175W TGP of the RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 2060 Super respectively.

Overall, NVIDIA claims a performance uplift of up to 1.7x compared to the RTX 3060 Ti and up to 2.6x better than the RTX 2060 Super, albeit with frame generation on at 1080p. If you do pick it up though you can expect the RTX 4060 Ti to deliver over 100FPS at 1080p in most of today’s biggest titles. NVIDIA do also state that for the most part, both the 8GB and 16GB RTX 4060 Ti will be roughly the same in performance, with the 16GB model perhaps having the edge in ‘Ultra’ settings only.

You can expect the 8GB GeForce RTX 4060 Ti to drop on 24 May, while the 16GB version should be available later this year in July. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM will have a recommended starting price of RM2,050 while the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB has a recommended price of RM2,570. You can expect prices to differ though depending on cooler configurations and factory overclock from various board partners.
