Amazfit Malaysia has just announced the T-Rex Ultra, its most rugged smartwatch yet. This looks like Amazfit’s answer to the Apple Watch Ultra and the Huawei Watch Ultimate but it costs less than RM2,000.

According to the official store listing, the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra is officially priced at RM1,999 but you can get it for RM1,899 on 18th May 2023. Available in Abyss Black or Sahara, the rugged smartwatch can be purchased online via the official store on Lazada and Shopee.
Amazfit T-Rex Ultra Malaysia Specs and Features
The Amazfit T-Rex ultra features a 1.39″ 454×454 touchscreen AMOLED display which boasts a brightness of up to 1000 units for better visibility under direct sunlight. The case uses 316L stainless steel and it gets adjustable lugs and a sweat-wicking silicone strap for maximum comfort. Designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, the T-Rex Ultra is said to be resistant to as high as 70℃ heat and as low as -40℃.
For optimal operations in extreme cold temperatures, it even has a Low-Temperature Mode which delivers 10 hours of battery life with GPS on or 14 days with GPS off. As expected, it is also MIL-STD810G certified and there are four physical buttons that are designed to be mud-resistant.
According to Amazfit, the T-Rex Ultra boasts a super long 20-day battery life with typical use or up to 9 days with heavy usage. To stretch the battery life longer, there’s also a Battery Saver Mode that can push its lifespan up to 25 days. For GPS, it has a rated 80 hours of usage and the watch’s automatic GPS battery mode can change its settings based on the signal strength to optimise the battery usage.
Similar to the Apple Watch Ultra and Huawei Watch Ultimate, the T-Rex Ultra is also a smartwatch that you can use for diving with EN13319 & ISO6245 certifications. It has a 10 ATM-rated water resistance which allows you to submerge it for up to 100-metres deep. Besides offering over 160 sports mode, it also supports freediving up to 30-metres and it can provide key information such as the depth and water temperature.
For health tracking, the T-Rex Ultra gets a BioTracker PPG biometric sensor that can also measure your blood oxygen level and it is also equipped with Acceleration, Gyroscope, Geomagnetic, Barometric and Ambient sensors. The rugged smartwatch also supports dual-band and 6 satellite GPS along with Bluetooth 5.0 BLE and 2.4GHz WiFi. The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra is compatible with Android (7.0 and above) and iOS (12.0 and above) smartphones and it pairs using the Zepp app. According to Amazfit, the Zepp app enables more features including the ability to connect to your GoPro and other professional devices such as heart rate belts and cycling power meter.
