Ahead of the upcoming Raya holidays, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has revealed data and cashback promos for prepaid users. This is an initiative from the respective telcos through a strategic collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
Depending on which telco you’re on, you can enjoy extra data of up to 555GB with discounted passes or RM5 cashback.
If you’re on Maxis’ Hotlink Prepaid plan, users can redeem a 100GB bonus via HotlinkMU. The validity of the data depends on the validity of the purchased pass and this offer is available until 15th May 2023.
Celcom and Digi prepaid users can redeem a 555GB HD video streaming plan for RM5 that’s valid for 4 days. This offer is available until 15th May 2023. According to the respective Celcom and Digi pages, the 555GB for RM5 streaming pass is open to both postpaid and prepaid but it’s only valid for 3 days. On Digi, the pass covers YouTube, Netflix, Viu and Daily Motion, while Celcom covers YouTube, Netflix, Viu, iQiyi and Astro Go.
On Unifi Mobile, they are offering RM5 cashback when you purchase a prepaid 4G/5G internet plan. The mobile telco of TM is also offering “unlimited” 4G and 5G data with unlimited calls for RM35/month. However, take note that the plan has a reduced FUP of 60GB. The RM5 cashback offer is valid until 5th May 2023.
Over at U Mobile, they are offering an additional 10GB bonus data for its Pakej Perpaduan Prepaid plan which 30GB (speed capped at 3Mbps) valid for 6 months for RM30. This bonus data offer is available until 31st May 2023.
Meanwhile, Yes 5G is offering 44GB bonus data valid for 7 days and this offer is valid until 15th May 2023.
According to the official statement, the offers are subject to the respective terms and conditions of each telco. Customers are advised to refer to the respective telco for further details.
Fahmi said that the efforts by the government and the telcos are in line with the RAHMAH concept which aims at reducing the cost of living while prioritising the people’s welfare. He hopes that these facilities can be beneficial to prepaid users during the festive season.
