The Kia EV6 is one of our favourite electric vehicles at the moment, and now the Korean carmaker’s Italian division has meshed it with another one of our loves, Lego. Say hello to the “Brick of the Future,” an EV6 made out of 350,000 Danish bricks, built for the Milan Design Week that starts on April 17.
The full-scale model was produced by BrickVision, headed by Italy’s only Lego Certified Professional Riccardo Zangelmi. The build took over 800 man hours and more than four months of development, including the design of a functional lighting system that mimics the EV6’s distinctive arrow-shaped headlights and full-width taillight bar. The low-slung design has also been replicated faithfully, although there’s obviously no interior to speak of.
The EV6 you see here looks identical to the one sold in Malaysia, down to the GT-Line bodykit and the 20-inch turbine-style two-tone alloy wheels. In our market, the car is priced at RM300,668 and comes in dual-motor all-wheel-drive form with 321hp (239kW) and 605Nm of torque. It gets from zero to 100km/h in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 183km/h.
Also fitted is a 77.4kWh battery that provides a claimed range of 506km; with an 800-volt electrical architecture, it can support up to 350kW of DC fast charging, bringing the battery from 10 to 80% charge in 19 minutes. The car will also accept up to 11kW of AC charging, which will fully charge the car in seven hours and 20 minutes. You can watch our video review below.
