Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah: How to check and redeem up to RM300 in STR cash aid

As announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim yesterday, the government will disburse up to RM300 in cash aid to B40 individuals under the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) Phase 1 initiative. Formerly known as Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia, the cash aid was originally scheduled for March 2023 but the government has decided to distribute the aid earlier starting today, 17th January 2023.

Who is eligible to receive STR cash aid?

According to the Inland Revenue Board Of Malaysia (LHDN), the list of individuals eligible for STR Phase 1 cash aid refers to the database of recipients of the previous BKM 2022 cash aid that’s updated as of 31st December 2022. If you’ve received the previous BKM cash aid, you should be eligible to receive STR as well.

B40 households of both married or single parents are eligible to receive RM300. Meanwhile, senior citizens with no partners as well as single B40 individuals are eligible to receive RM100. A total of RM1.67 billion have been allocated for STR Phase 1 and it is expected to benefit 8.7 million Malaysians.

You can check if you’re eligible by logging in using your IC number on the top left of this website.

How to redeem the STR Phase 1 Cash Aid?

Individuals who have registered their bank account numbers under the previous BKM 2022 programme will get their STR Phase 1 cash aid credited automatically in stages from 17th January 2023. Eligible individuals who don’t have a registered bank account can redeem the cash aid at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches starting today, 17th January 2023. The over-the-counter redemption for STR Phase 1 cash aid at BSN is only for individuals who have received their BKM 2022 by cash or for individuals with credit failure status or who have no bank account information.
