Alongside the Honor X9a 5G with its ultra tough curved display, the Chinese company also launched another more entry level smartphone in Malaysia this week, the Honor X7a. While not necessarily the most powerful smartphone, the Honor X7a claims to have a battery life as long as three and a half days.

Honor X7a Malaysia pricing and availability

The Honor X7a will come in just one configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at RM799. It’s available for purchase from now onwards at the Honor eStore, their official store on Shopee and Lazada, as well as authorised retailers nationwide. Early birds will also be able to snag free gifts worth up to RM168 which include a two year extended warranty and a vacuum mug.

Honor X7a specs

The Honor X7a features a large 6.74-inch TFT LCD display that’s unfortunately hurt by its limited HD+ resolution, though it does have a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood meanwhile is a 12nm MediaTek Helio G37, mated to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has expandable storage, with up to a 1TB microSD card an option. It runs MagicUI 6.1 based on Android 12 out of the box too.

Meanwhile in the camera department, it has a quad rear camera setup, with a main 50MP, f/1.8 camera flanked by a 5MP, f/2.2 ultrawide shooter. There’s also a pair of 2MP, f./2.4 cameras next to them, a macro camera and a depth sensor. Up front meanwhile you’ll find an 8MP, f/2.0 camera for all your selfies.

Really though, the star of this show is its massive 6,000mAh battery, with 22.5W fast charging. You even get the USB-C cable and charger in the box with the device itself. According to Honor, the Honor X7a is capable of lasting up to three and a half days, and has even been crowned the number one smartphone for battery performance by DXOMark, even beating the Asus ROG Phone 6, another smartphone with a 6,000mAh battery.

Elsewhere, the Honor X7a has a side mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack as well as support for dual SIM 4G LTE, WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. Measuring 8.27mm thick and weighing in at 196g, the Honor X7a will be available in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Titanium Silver colourways.
