Customers have been informed about the RM3 price increase via SMS. Interestingly, U Mobile has also mentioned that the GX38 plan will be upgraded from 6Mbps to 12Mbps while maintaining the same unlimited data, calls and 6GB of hotspot quota.
When the GX38 plan was first introduced in 2020, customers were charged a promo price of RM35/month from 13th February 2020. It is also stated that the plan’s activation fee of RM38/month will be charged upon the expiry of the promotion period. The plan used to come with 3GB of hotspot quota but it was later upgraded to 6GB during the early phase of the movement control order.
If you don’t want to pay RM3 extra per month, you can consider subscribing to U35 prepaid which was introduced this year. It also offers “unlimited” data capped at 6Mbps and unlimited calls. However, it has less hotspot quota at 3GB per month but it offers 30 hours of speed booster which you can activate 1 hour of uncapped download speed per day.
Another thing to take note of is that the U35 plan has a 100GB FUP that’s mentioned in their FAQ. U Mobile didn’t mention the actual FUP for the GX38 prepaid plan.
