Welcome back to another episode of Ask Us Anything, where we gather your questions from the internet and answer them.
In today’s episode, we answer what unlimited internet mobile plans you can get for under RM100, how hotspot works for the Hotlink Pantas plan, and what video editing software we use here at SoyaCincau.
Let’s start with Celcom MEGA 98 which offers unlimited data at 10 megabits per second, unlimited calls to all networks and 10GB of Hotspot data for RM98 a month.
Next up there’s Unifi which offers an unlimited internet postpaid plan for RM59 a month which also includes 10GB of LTE data. This is tied to a 12-month contract. Opting out of the contract will cost you RM79 per month.
Yoodo on the other hand offers unlimited internet for RM43/month at 6 megabits per second. This base plan also includes 6GB of hotspot data, 2GB of roaming data, 100 minutes of voice calls, and if it’s relevant to you, 20GB of high-speed data for PUBG mobile. That said, you are free to customise the amount of quota you need for hotspot, voice, SMS, and other add-ons.
Now, Umobile doesn’t actually offer an unlimited internet plan for postpaid, but the U Postpaid 98 for RM98 a month does come with 1,000 GB or 1TB of high-speed data. This is more than the fair usage policy of most unlimited internet plans and if you’re the type who doesn’t consume 1TB of data in a month, then you don’t have to worry about hitting the data cap.
However, do note that you are given a separate 5GB hotspot quota which is not shared with your primary 1TB quota.
At the moment, none of the unlimited internet plans seem to have a fair usage policy quota and before choosing a plan, you need to factor in the service coverage area of the telco.
You can check out Alex’s video on the best prepaid plans in Malaysia for unlimited, high-speed data, long validity, and roaming if you’re looking for other options, below.
As it happens, I am using the Hotlink Pantas plan myself, so I can tell you that hotspot data is shared with your primary internet quota. Therefore, if you buy the 20GB pass, it will be shared for hotspot use.
You can also spend RM30 to purchase a 365 days SIM active period via the Hotlink app. This would be great if you don’t make many voice calls or send SMS messages and can extend the Zero Wastage internet quota for a year.
Otherwise, I would recommend topping up your credit to extend the active period so you can use the balance to purchase internet passes and make voice calls.
Well, since I’m just a mere content editor and not a glamorous video editor, I had to ask Luqman the videographer. According to him, the video editors here at SoyaCincau use Adobe Premier Pro to edit our video content.
I would like to announce that we are looking for people to join the SoyaCincau family. There’s an opening for Videographer, editor and graphic designer, and BM Tech writer. If any of these positions caught your attention, you can find more information here.
