Google is launching the Pixel 7 series on 6 Oct. Will it finally be coming to Malaysia?

With just a day left to Apple’s Far Out event, Google has perhaps tried to steal the show a little bit by reminding everyone that they too have their own flagship smartphones coming up soon. They have just announced that they will be having a Made By Google event this 6 October at 10am ET (10pm Malaysian time), where we can expect to see the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro.

While we will need to wait until then to know everything about the Pixel 7 series, Google has actually already revealed a fair bit about their two upcoming smartphones. For one, they already showed off the design of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro back in May during their Google I/O conference. They will be retaining the horizontal camera bar design on the back, but the main camera along with the ultrawide shooter will be housed in a blacked out pill while the Pixel 7 Pro gets an additional telephoto camera next to it.

The rest of the camera bar meanwhile will get a lighter finish, offering a two tone look to it. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will also of course feature the next generation of their in-house Google Tensor processor. Android 13 is a certain too, considering that it has already been made available for other Pixel devices. We can expect Google to show off their new Pixel Watch during the Made By Google event too.

That being said though, even if the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro end up being phenomenal devices, it will likely not be available in the Malaysian market in any official capacity, which is honestly quite a shame. So far, the nearest country to officially have Google’s hardware on sale is Singapore, and there hasn’t been any indication yet that that will be changing anytime soon.
