If you’re staying in the Klang Valley and having issues with your Unifi service, you’re not alone. Telekom Malaysia has updated via its Unifi social channels that its services are affected by the current power outage by Tenaga Nasional Berhad. At around noon, several locations in the Klang Valley and other towns in other states in Peninsular Malaysia had faced major blackouts.
#unifiAlerts Berikutan daripada masalah bekalan elektrik di beberapa kawasan di Lembah Kelang, sebahagian node kami terjejas menyebabkan perkhidmatan unifi turut terjejas.

Perkhidmatan unifi dijangka pulih sejurus bekalan elektrik kembali.

According to the tweet, the blackout had caused disruption for some of TM’s nodes and Unifi services will be restored after the power supply is restored. A few moments earlier, Digi had also posted an update that it is facing network interruption in the Klang Valley. Most telcos would have backup power to ensure uptime for its network. However, it seems that not all of their sites are equipped with gensets.
TNB has just updated at 2:15pm that the power interruption which started at 12:39pm involved 2.2GW of electricity which is 10% of the total supply demand. The affected areas include Petaling Jaya, Cheras, Bangi, Bayan Lepas, Seberang Jaya, Panchor and Bandar Indera Mahkota. The power utility company added that supply has been restored in most areas within 40 minutes except for affected locations in the Klang Valley. They have apologised for the interruption and are still working to restore supply as soon as possible.
