Nothing Phone (1) Malaysia: You can try out and pre-order the phone at The Starhill Piazza

Fresh from yesterday’s launch, the Nothing Phone (1) is now available for the public to try out at Nothing’s pop-up store at The Starhill Piazza. The company is also resuming pre-orders today, having exhausted the initial run through sneaker retailer Crossover almost immediately after it dropped on Monday.

Also on display at the store is the merchandise collection created in collaboration with Crossover, which also sold out within 15 minutes of going on sale at midnight Monday. Crossover also confirmed it has reopened pre-orders for the Phone (1) today, although only the version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is being offered on the online store and will be shipped from mid August onwards.

As we’ve previously reported, full retail sales of the Phone (1) will kick off on August 1 via SenQ, DirectD, TMT, Satu Gadget and the company’s official Lazada and Shopee stores. Only the version with 8GB of RAM will be offered initially, with the 12GB variant set to arrive in mid to late August. Pricing of the Phone (1) is as follows:

  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM2,399
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM2,699

To recap, the Phone (1) is the first smartphone from Nothing, the company started by OnePlus founder Carl Pei. Its defining feature is the transparent back that is lit up by the Glyph interface, featuring over 900 LEDs that correspond to ringtones and notifications.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor and features a 6.55-inch OLED Full HD+ display, an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP main and ultrawide cameras, a 16MP selfie camera, wireless charging (including in reverse) and a 4,500mAh battery that is claimed to provide 18 hours of use.
