Shopee offers affected Shocking Sale buyers to re-purchase the Huawei FreeBuds SE for RM22

As reported earlier today, buyers of the Huawei FreeBuds SE during Shopee’s Shocking Sale on 7.7 were notified that their orders were cancelled due to a pricing error. The Huawei FreeBuds SE priced at RM199 was offered for only RM22 during the Shocking Sale at 4pm yesterday.

Shopee Malaysia has provided us with an official response along with a solution for affected customers. They have apologised for the unpleasant experience caused by the error to all parties affected and appreciate their kind understanding.

According to the eCommerce platform, the price difference for the Huawei FreeBuds SE sold on Shopee during its Mid year sale was due to a manual human listing error. It added that the orders were cancelled as soon as Shopee realised the error and they have compensated buyers with a Shopee voucher.

On top of that, Shopee will be crediting affected users a special voucher to re-purchase the Huawei FreeBuds SE at the original deal price of RM22. Affected Shopee users will be notified about this offer through the Shopee app.

At about 2pm this afternoon, Najib from SoyaCincau BM received a “compensation” voucher worth RM50 that’s valid for one month and it comes with no minimum spending. This was for his cancelled order for three units of the Huawei FreeBuds SE.

Overall, this is a good gesture from Shopee for owning up to their mistake. Besides offering a voucher, they are honouring the deal by allowing affected users to buy the same product for RM22 although we reckon that it is likely limited to one unit per customer. Based on our screenshot yesterday, Shopee sold 150 units of the FreeBuds SE for RM22 during yesterday’s shocking sale.

Did you manage to buy the Huawei FreeBuds SE for RM22 on 7.7? Let us know if you’ve received your vouchers from Shopee.
