[UPDATE] Rapid KL Free Ride: All users are required to complete survey form, My50 users can claim free rides

[ UPDATE 18/06/2022 20:30 ] Rapid KL has clarified that users are not forced to complete a survey form in order to enjoy free train and bus rides.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of free public transport rides for one month, Rapid KL has released its terms and conditions for the initiative. Before you can hop on a Rapid KL train or bus, RapidKL wants all users to download an app and fill up a survey form first.

To recap, Rapid KL is offering free rides from 16 June to 15 July 2022 for all services including LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL Bus and MRT Feeder Bus.

According to Rapid KL’s T&C, users who wish to ride for free must download the Pulse app which is available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Next, you’ll have to fill up a Google Forms survey by clicking on the RKLFR (Free Ride with Rapid KL) banner. Once you’re done with the form submission, you must take a screenshot of the Thank You page and save it on your phone.

During the free-ride period, all users are still required to tap in and tap out at the gates. Whether you are using My50 pass, TNG Card, Concession card or tokens, Rapid KL still requires you to fill up the survey form and keep a screenshot. You are only required to fill out the form once throughout the campaign period.

If you’re using Touch ‘n Go, My50 or a concessions pass, you must ensure a minimum balance of RM5.00 at all times before you can use the Rapid KL public transport service. Hardcopy of the survey is also available at all Rapid KL customer service offices for those who can’t submit the survey online.

For users who use the Park and Ride facilities, they can still enjoy a flat rate for parking if they use the same payment/pass card for entry and exit, and RapidKL services.

My50 users can claim free rides for 30 days

The free ride announcement has caught many commuters by surprise especially those who have recently renewed their My50 unlimited travel pass. According to Rapid KL, subscribers who purchased the My50 pass on 16th June, can claim their 30-day free ride between 23 to 25 July 2022 after the current My50 pass has expired. All customers are required to retain their receipts as proof of renewal in order to redeem the 30-day free ride.

For existing My50 subscribers whose pass is expiring between 17th June to 15th July 2022, you can enjoy the 30-day free ride pass on the next My50 purchase when your current My50 validity expires.
