The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 was a slick little gaming laptop when it first debuted in 2020, catching almost everyone by surprise with how good it was despite its smaller size and relatively cheaper price tag. Since then, it has continuously been a fan favourite among gamers on the go, and Asus has now revealed the latest rendition of the laptop with the 2022 ROG Zephyrus G14.
You can now get your hands on the new ROG Zephyrus G14 if you’d like from the official Asus stores on Lazada and Shopee, as well as their retail partners across the country. Available in Moonlight White and Eclipse Gray, here’s how much they’ll cost you:
Those of you who do get their hands on the new ROG Zephyrus G14 will also be able to redeem a month of PC Game Pass for free, giving you access to over a hundred different video game titles to try out on your new laptop.
The ROG Zephyrus G14 will feature a 14-inch, 16:10 IPS display running a WQXGA (2560 X 1600p) resolution that’s capable of a 120Hz refresh rate with a 3ms response time too. It supports Dolby Vision HDR, has 500nits of brightness and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The entire chassis itself weighs just 1.72kg and measures 1.95cm thick, but perhaps the coolest part of it all is the AniMe Matrix customisable lighting on the top cover of the Zephyrus G14.
Under the hood, the ROG Zephyrus G14 has all-AMD silicon setup, with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS processor together with 16GB DDR5 RAM on the base model rising to 32GB of DDR5 RAM on the higher end configuration. Both models will have a 1TB NVME PCIe 4.0 SSD too. All of that gets cooled via a vapor chamber cooling system with liquid metal thermal paste.
As for graphics, the Zephyrus G14 will be using the new Radeon RX 6000S series of graphics cards, with the RX 6700S on the base model and the RX 6800S on the higher end one. Just like the other ROG laptops Asus has announced this year, the Zephyrus G14 has a MUX switch allowing the GPU to bypass the integrated graphics for better performance.
Elsewhere, a 76WHr battery keeps the lights on the ROG Zephyrus G14, and can be charged up via a 100W USB-C charger. You’ll also find an RGB backlit chiclet keyboard, a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res certification, as well as a 3-mic array and a 720p webcam with Windows Hello support. There’s support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity, while for I/O you’ll get a HDMI 2.0b port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a microSD card reader as well as a 3.5mm combo audio jack.
Overall, Asus seems to have done a pretty swell job in refreshing the ROG Zephyrus G14 as a whole, and we’ll be excited to see just how well the new hardware performs. For more information on the ROG Zephyrus G14, you can check out its product page on the Asus website.
