Why are people asking about what you’re listening to? | Trends

If you are on TikTok, you’ve probably seen a guy asking random people on the streets what song they are listening to. But how did it all started, and why did it go viral?

Over 10 years ago, a person who goes by the handle Ty Cullen on youtube uploaded a video where he asked a bunch of new yorkers what they were listening to. If we’re talking about early youtube vibes, this video has it all. The grainy camera, the slightly scuffed audio, the 720p max resolution and the lack of a person saying “hey guys”. its like i was shot into a time capsule Anton Ego style right back to the 2010s.

But apparently, that’s not the reason why it suddenly went viral on TikTok. According to “Mashable”, that is because of one Shan Rizwan, who made a similar video 10 years later and uploaded it to his youtube channel. He then chopped it up and uploaded it to his tiktok, which THEN went viral.

Find out more about the Trend on today’s video.
