Samsung has just launched not one, not two but three new mid range devices in Malaysia and they are the Samsung Galaxy A33, the A53 and the A73. So what’s new and what’s special about this new Galaxy A series?

Samsung Galaxy A33

The Samsung Galaxy A33 is the base model and also the smallest variant of the new Galaxy A series. Upfront, you will find a 6.4” Full HD+ AMOLED Infinity U display with a 90Hz refresh rate. There’s also an Exynos 1280 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. If that’s not enough, you can always add more with a microSD card.

In terms of its camera, there’s a quad camera setup with a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera and also a 2MP bokeh sensor. There’s also a 13MP selfie camera sitting inside the water drop notch

Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy A53

But if you need a more capable phone, there’s the Samsung Galaxy A53. Now unlike the younger sibling, the A53 gets a larger 6.5″ Full HD+ AMOLED display. But instead of a 90Hz refresh rate, the A53 gets a smoother 120Hz refresh rate, which is great news if you play games often on your smartphone. You will also notice that the A53 also comes with a punch hole display instead of a notch.

Powering the device is a Exynos 1280 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. But unlike the A33, you do not have the option to add more storage, which is a bummer.

The biggest difference would be the camera. On the A53, you are getting a quad camera setup with a 64MP main camera, a 12MP ultra wide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor. There’s also a 32MP selfie camera that sits right in the tiny punch hole.

But similar to the A33, there’s also a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. So that’s pretty good I guess.

Samsung Galaxy A73

Now let’s move on to the more capable and also the most powerful device of the series and it is none other than the Samsung Galaxy A73. Now, this is the biggest smartphone of the series because this device here comes with a 6.7″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Similar to the A53, it also comes with a punch hole display instead of a notch.

This smartphone here also comes with a Snapdragon 778G processor instead of the new Exynos processor. It is mated to up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. But the best part is, you can add more via a microSD card so that’s a plus compared to the A53.

The camera is also slightly better than the A53, because you are getting a 108MP main shooter along with a 12MP ultra wide angle camera, a 5Mp depth sensor and a 5MP macro camera for you to shoot things up close. You will also get a 32MP selfie camera. Similarly to the other 2 phones, you will also get a pretty decent 5,000mAh battery.

Across the board, all Samsung Galaxy A devices that I have mentioned do not come with a charger out of the box and also a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, they feature IP67 dust and water resistance, so at least you know your phone is somewhat protected.
