Huawei Malaysia has announced that the Nova 9 SE is coming to Malaysia very soon. This is their new mid-range smartphone under the Nova 9 series and it is also Huawei’s first phone to feature a higher 108MP resolution camera.
At the moment, they have yet to reveal the official pricing but they are now accepting bookings which requires a non-refundable deposit of RM20. According to Huawei Malaysia, customers who book are required to make full payment on the 11th to 18th March 2022. From the looks of it, the Huawei Nova 9 SE official price should be revealed by 11th March at 4pm.
According to the online store, customers that pay the RM20 deposit and complete the balance payment can stand a chance to win RM666, RM888 or RM1,888 vouchers. The device will come in 3 colours – Crystal Blue, Pearl White and Midnight Black.
The Huawei Nova 9 SE specs isn’t fully revealed yet but they have dropped a couple of clues on the product page. The Nova 9 SE will come with a 6.78″ display with ultra-thin 1.05mm thin bezels, a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 108MP main camera that offers creative vlog modes. Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery which supports 66W fast charging via USB-C. According to Huawei, you can get up to 60% charge in just 15 minutes and a full charge only takes 40 minutes.
Serial leakster Roland Quandt of WinFuture has shared more details of the new mid-range smartphone. The 6.78″ display uses an LCD panel that does Full HD+ resolution and it gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Beside the 108MP main camera, it also gets an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and two 2MP shooters which are likely for macro and depth effects. Also included is a 16MP selfie camera.
Strangely, Roland claims that the device will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor which is an older processor based on a 11nm processor. This could be a mistake as Huawei Malaysia confirms that it’s a 6nm processor. At the very least, we reckon that the Nova 9 SE could be running on a Snapdragon 680 like the Redmi Note 11.
Like most new Huawei smartphones, the device won’t support 5G and it won’t support Google Mobile Services. You’ll have to rely on Huawei’s AppGallery or Petal Search to discover and download APK files.
