Samsung has confirmed that it will be unveiling the latest Galaxy S22 series at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2022 on 9th February. Besides dropping the date, Samsung Malaysia is offering an early bird offer where you can get a RM200 discount voucher when you pre-order the Galaxy S22.

The Galaxy S22 launch event is taking place at 11pm (Malaysian time) on 9th February 2022. You can watch it live on Samsung’s website or YouTube channel. Besides the usual Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung is also expected to reveal its new Galaxy Tab S8 series.

Samsung Malaysia is also giving away a RM200 eVoucher which you can use after you pre-order the next Galaxy device. You can probably use this voucher to purchase other accessories or wearables for your Galaxy S22. All you’ll need to do is to register your interest in the Galaxy S22 launch on Samsung’s website. According to the fine print, the eVoucher is only available to pre-orders of the “Next Galaxy” by registered customers and it is limited to one redemption per customer.

Since Malaysia is a key market, you can expect Samsung Malaysia to start pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 series shortly after the global Unpacked event. As usual, Samsung is expected to offer special pre-order promo for early bird Galaxy S22 customers while stocks last. Stocks for the device are expected to be available from 24th February 2022 based on earlier leaks.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series has been leaked extensively in the past few months and this is their first all-new flagship of the year. Galaxy Note fans would have something to look forward to as the Galaxy S22 Ultra is seen as a real “Note” replacement as it will come with an S Pen along with a built-in silo. Samsung Mobile head Dr TM Roh has already indicated that the next “Ultra” will be the most “noteworthy” Galaxy S series device yet. Leaks have revealed that the new S Pen will have almost no latency, which would provide a more realistic pen-to-paper writing experience than the previous generation.

The new flagship series will be running on either an Exynos 2200 chip that features AMD’s RNDA 2 technology or Qualcomm’s current top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 gen 1. Traditionally, Malaysia gets the Exynos version but due to silicon delays, there’s a possibility that Malaysia could be getting the Qualcomm version for the Galaxy S22.

Besides smartphones, Samsung is expected to reveal its new Galaxy Tab S8 series of flagship tablets. This time, the Korean tech giant is releasing an Ultra version that features an even larger 14.6″ Super AMOLED display which is bigger than the iPad Pro 12.9″. Not only this is Samsung’s first “Ultra” tablet, but it is also their first tablet to feature a notch that apparently houses two 12MP cameras.

There’s also the smaller Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8+, and all 3 models will get an S Pen which charges magnetically at the back of the tablet. All models including both WiFi and 5G versions are expected to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The tablets will come in an array of colours but it appears that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra might just come in a single grey option.
