Celcom has fully restored mobile connectivity in most flood-affected areas

The recent floods have not just displaced tens of thousands of people but it has also affected communications infrastructure in badly hit areas. Celcom has revealed that its network has been fully restored in most areas, particularly in Selangor and Pahang.

According to their tweet, Celcom’s mobile services are fully restored in Bestari Jaya, Jeram, Klang, Puchong, Port Klang, Dengkil, KLIA, Chow Kit and Senawang in Selangor. In the state of Pahang, they have restored services in Raub, Panching, Bukit Goh, Tanjung Lumpur, Pantai Sepat, Sri Jaya and Chini. Besides Celcom and Xpax users, the network also serves other mobile virtual network operators (MVNO) which include Yoodo, XOX, Tune Talk, and Redone. If you still having issues connecting to the 4G network, it is advisable to restart your device or toggle Airplane mode on and off.

Restoration works for other areas is still in progress and they will provide more updates on their social channels via Facebook and Twitter. Celcom’s Network team has been on high alert and is closely monitoring its network sites within flood-affected areas. Their on-ground network teams are on standby to minimise any network interruptions.

Celcom has allocated RM2 million for flood relief and to support flood-affected communities in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and other states.They have partnered with the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA), the GLC Disaster Response Network (GDRN), the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and other NGOs and agencies, to provide aid to affected communities that require assistance.
