Celcom has provided an update for its network restoration works following the devastating floods that occurred last weekend. According to the telco, the floods have impacted more than 100 network sites nationwide due to power outages. The network team also faced challenges accessing the affected sites due to high water levels and severe road conditions. Their engineers are on standby to restore the sites as soon as the conditions are safe.

As of 12pm today (23rd December 2021), Celcom has restored 70% of flood-impacted network sites in the Klang Valley which includes 100% restoration at Hulu Langat, Bestari Jaya, Jeram, Klang, Port Klang, Dengkil, Pandan Indah, Seksyen 27 and Seksyen 35 in Shah Alam.

They have also restored 50% of impacted network sites in the Eastern and Southern regions which include 100% restoration at Raub, Panching, Bukit Goh, Tanjung Lumpur, Pantai Sepat, Sri Jaya, Chini, Bukit Juntai, Durian Tipus and Kg. Ngoi-Ngoi.

To help boost connectivity at temporary relocation relief centres (PPS), Celcom has also deployed “Cellular-on-wheels” equipment, provision of free Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and installation of coverage signal boosters. The extra initiatives are conducted at various PPS nationwide which include PPS Ladang Emerald SKJT Kemuning and PPS Kota Kemuning in Shah Alam, PPS Dewan Orang Ramai Tok Muda in Klang, PPS Balairaya Kampung Tiram in Pahang.

Celcom will continue to provide updates on their social channels via Facebook and Twitter. Celcom customers can also contact them directly via WhatsApp at +6019-6861111 or call them at 1111.
