You can now pre-order the Huawei Watch GT 3 and GT 3 Runner in Malaysia from RM999

Following the launch of the Huawei Watch GT 3 and Watch GT Runner, we now have word on the pricing details for Huawei’s new smartwatches. The Watch GT Runner specifically is an interesting wearable, as it’s Huawei’s first smartwatch designed specifically with runners in mind.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 can already be pre-ordered from now till the 3rd of December, while the Huawei Watch GT Runner is available for pre-order until the 12th of December. You can do so on the Huawei Online Store, Huawei’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee as well as physical Huawei Experience Stores throughout the country.

If you do pre-order one of Huawei’s new smartwatches, you’ll get some freebies too, including a pair of Huawei FreeBuds 3i and Huawei Scale 3 worth RM548 for Huawei Watch GT Runner pre-orders. Those who opt for a 42mm Huawei Watch GT 3 meanwhile will get an instant rebate of RM200, and pre-orders for the 46mm Huawei Watch GT 3 will get a free pair of Huawei FreeLace headphones worth RM379.

Huawei Watch GT Runner specs and features

As mentioned earlier, this has been designed specifically with runners in mind, and so comes with some running-specific features to help them out. One such design decision is to move the GPS tracker into the watch lug, something that Huawei is calling a ‘floating antenna design’. It apparently makes it lighter and creates less interference when looking for a signal, and so provides faster and more accurate track positioning, allowing runners to know exactly how far they ran and the path they took. There’s a new TruSeen 5.0 feature too, providing better heart-rate monitoring almost as reliable as a proper chest strap.

On top of that you’ll find the Huawei TruSport feature that has a ‘Scientific Running Program’. It provides runners with all the data they need to track performance, and includes suggestions on how to improve too with changes to training intensity and volume as well as monitoring your running technique and physical fitness. To help users understand all of this data though is the Huawei Running Ability Index, a tool that breaks down your running ability, how it stacks up to your targets and how you perform compared to other runners like yourself.

The Huawei Watch GT Runner is built to be light, weighing just 38.5g without the strap, and is 11mm thick. It has a 1.43-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 466 x 466 pixel resolution, and you can control it with slide and touch gestures. On the side of the watch meanwhile are two physical buttons. The onboard sensors include an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, an optical heart rate sensor and an air pressure sensor.

There’s NFC, GNSS and Bluetooth support too, while the total storage available on the watch is 4GB. Huawei didn’t specify battery capacity, but states that the battery should last you 14 days of use, and charges via a magnetic charging cradle. Other features include a built-in speaker and microphone, as well as a 5ATM water resistance level. And as expected, it runs HarmonyOS 2 but you will be able to pair it with an Android and iOS device too.

Huawei Watch GT 3 specs and features

Arguably the more lifestyle-oriented smartwatch of the two new Huawei wearables, the Huawei Watch GT 3 has a more classic watch look and feel to it compared to the Watch GT Runner. It comes in two variants, with either a 42mm or a 46mm version available. The larger of the two has a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen just like the Watch GT Runner too, while the smaller Watch GT 3 has a 1.32-inch AMOLED display instead; despite the different sizes, both have a 466 x 466 pixel resolution. Both watches are able to use touch and slide gestures but have two physical buttons too with the upper button doubling as a rotating crown.

Battery-wise, Huawei rates the larger Huawei Watch GT 3 for up to 14 days of use, while the smaller one will last for up to 7 days of use. Both charge via wireless charging, and come with a built-in speaker and microphone too along with 5ATM water resistance. It has GPS and Bluetooth connectivity but unlike the Watch GT Runner doesn’t support NFC. The 46mm Watch GT 3 weighs around 42.6g without the strap, while the 42mm watch weights 35g.

They come with your usual host of sensors, like an optical heart rate sensor, an accelerometer, a geomagnetic sensor, a gyroscope as well as a temperature and air pressure sensor.Notable features include Huawei’s TruSeen 5.0 functionality, all day SpO2 monitoring, skin temperature measurements, Bluetooth calling, over a hundred workout modes and an always on display.
