Poco is introducing the M4 Pro 5G tomorrow, which will be their brand new budget 5G smartphone. Just before the launch, Poco has dropped a new teaser hinting a new Poco F3 is coming soon. The Poco F3 was launched locally in March 2021 so this leaves us wondering if Poco is introducing a brand new variant or is it just a higher-spec model with more RAM and storage.
From the teaser image, this looks like a standard Poco F3 as there are no additional hashtags or clues to indicate that it would be a brand new model. The current F3 is a flagship-class device that features an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 870 5G chip, stereo speakers, and a large 4,520mAh battery. The Poco F3 is priced from RM1,399 but you can get it with a discount during online mega sales. Since the phone is already widely available on Lazada and Shopee, it is weird for Poco to say that the “beast is coming back”.
However, there’s a possibility that they might release the Poco F3 GT in Malaysia which is a gaming-centric phone that has physical shoulder buttons. The Poco F3 GT is already released in India and it’s basically a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.
The F3 GT also features a 6.67″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate but it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The standout feature is its pop-up “maglev triggers with GT Switch” and it has RGB Glow lighting around the camera bump. Also included is a pair of stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and it has a larger 5,065mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
All shall be revealed during the Poco event tomorrow at 8pm on 9th November 2021.
