Redmi Note 11 series debuts in China with 120W fast charging and 108MP camera

The Redmi Note lineup of smartphones are undoubtedly some of the best value-for-money devices out there right now in terms of hardware and features. But if you’ve been on the lookout for one of these new Redmi Note phones, you may want to hold off the purchase for a while more as Xiaomi have just launched the new Redmi Note 11 series in China.

Pricing and availability

First off the bat, there’s going to be three smartphones in the Redmi Note 11 family in China. While all these devices are available now in China, it should be noted that we may be seeing different versions or even different specs altogether when it launches globally. Nevertheless, here are the prices for the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+:

Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+

Overall, the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Note 11 Pro+ are fairly identical to each other. They both feature a 6.67-inch, FHD+ AMOLED display capable of a 120Hz refresh rate and has a 360Hz touch sampling rate. That has a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 over it for protection, with a further unspecified layer of Gorilla Glass on the rear while the sides have a flat finish to them, reminiscent of the new iPhones. Under the hood meanwhile is the MediaTek Dimensity 920 system-on-chip, which gets mated to up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Camera-wise, the large camera bump on the rear houses a triple-camera setup, with a main 108MP camera using the same Samsung HM2 sensor from the previous Redmi Note 10 Pro. That gets flanked by an 8MP ultra wide camera with a 120° field-of-view and a further 2MP telemacro lens. As for the front of the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro+, you’ll find a 16MP selfie camera housed in a relatively small punch hole cutout.

The real standout feature here that warrants the ‘Pro+’ moniker though is that is has a 120W fast charging rate for its 4,500mAh battery. Xiaomi claims that it’ll charge it to the brim in just about 15 minutes, and had a performer hold their breath while they charged it during their launch event. As for the Redmi Note 11 Pro, it gets just a 67W fast charging rate, though it’s perhaps compensated by having a larger 5,160mAh battery.

Other features of note include a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers with tuning by JBL with Dolby Atmos too. There’s also support for WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. The Redmi Note 11 Pro will come in four colours, which are Mysterious Black, Forest Green, Timeless Purple and Milky Way Blue, while the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will only have the first three of those colourways.

Redmi Note 11

The Redmi Note 11 sits a little lower on their product stack, but still has some reasonably solid specs and features on offer. You’re looking at a 6.6-inch, FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, which sees a double downgrade over the over the 120Hz AMOLED panel in its Pro and Pro+ counterparts. There also was no mention of what the layer of protective glass is over it.

Underneath the Redmi Note 11 is a MediaTek Dimensity 810 system-on-chip. This gets paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of RAM, with 128GB being the lowest spec model now. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery and uses 33W fast charging via USB-C. In the camera department, the Redmi Note 11 has just a dual-camera setup on the rear, with a 50MP main camera paired together to an 8MP ultra wide angle camera. Meanwhile on the front you get a 16MP selfie camera.

Other than that, you’ll also be getting stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The Redmi Note 11 will come in three colourways: Mysterious Black, Milky Way Blue and Mint Green.

For more information on them you can check out Xiaomi’s announcement post on it on their blog.
