Here’s how much Microsoft Office 2021 is officially priced in Malaysia:

The one-time pricing is applicable for one user using one 1 PC or Mac.

Office Home and Student 2021

Designed for students and families, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021 comes with 3 Classic apps including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The plan is for non-commercial use and comes with 60-days of Microsoft support. It also works with Microsoft Teams.

For RM529, you will only need to pay one-time, however, users on the Microsoft 365 subscription will get extra access to Outlook and 1TB of OneDrive storage. As a comparison, Microsoft 365 Personal (for 1 person) is going for RM269/year or RM27/month. For families, the Microsoft 365 Family subscription costs RM359/year and it offers the same perks for up to 6 people. Each user in the family plan will also receive 1TB OneDrive cloud storage.

Office Home and Business 2021

For families and small businesses, the Microsoft Office Home and Business 2021 edition costs a one-time RM1,399 and it comes with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook for one PC or Mac. The product also comes with Microsoft Support for 60 days and it works with Microsoft Teams.

As a comparison, the subscription-based Microsoft 365 Business Basic costs RM15.60/month for web and mobile based versions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Meanwhile, Microsoft 365 Business Standard costs RM44.60/month which gives you access to desktop apps for Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Publisher (PC only), Access (PC only) and OneDrive cloud storage.
