Samsung Malaysia has announced the availability of its Galaxy M22. This is their new budget smartphone that boasts a Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a large 5,000mAh battery. Essentially, this is a rehash of the Galaxy A22 4G.
The Samsung Galaxy M22 is officially priced at RM899 in Malaysia. In conjunction with the upcoming 10.10 sale, you can get it for only RM779 from now until 10th October. This discounted price is available exclusively through Shopee Mall on the official Samsung Malaysia official store.
The device is equipped with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, and is available in either Black or Light Blue.
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy M22 comes with a 6.4″ HD+ Super AMOLED display that pushes a 90Hz refresh rate. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G80 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. Onboard, it has 128GB of storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 1TB.
In the camera department, it features a quad-camera setup at the rear. This consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, the tiny notch houses a 13MP selfie shooter. The device also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that doubles as a power button.
Powering the Galaxy M22 is a 5,000mAh battery that can support up to 25W fast charging via USB-C. It is likely that Samsung is bundling a slower 15W power adapter in the box. According to the Shopee Store listing, the device supports 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and it comes with dual-SIM support. The page also mentions that it runs on Android 10 with One UI 2 and Samsung Malaysia says it supports the latest Android 11 and One UI.
