Jabra unveils four new TWS earbuds including the Elite 7 Pro with bone conduction tech

Jabra has announced its new true wireless earbud lineup consisting of the Elite 2, Elite 3, Elite 7 Active, and Elite 7 Pro. The top-of-the-line Elite 7 Pro features their new “MultiSensor Voice system” that uses a bone conduction system for better clarity during calls.

This is their sixth generation of earbuds, building upon the previous models and improving them slowly along the way. These Jabra earbuds actually have multipoint Bluetooth support for seamless connectivity, which many other brands do not support at the moment.

Elite 2: Jabra’s cheapest earbuds ever

The Elite 2 is Jabra’s most affordable model ever. Powering the buds are 6mm drivers and Qualcomm aptX HD audio, allowing 24-bit audio over Bluetooth.

For calls, the Elite 2 has four microphones to pick up your voice and a noise-isolating design to block out the background noise. It also has IP55-rated water resistance which protects it from rain and light splashes.

Unfortunately, these buds do not feature active noise cancelling (ANC), but do have a ‘HearThrough’ transparency mode that allows you to hear your surroundings and choose the amount of noise you want to hear. On a single charge, it lasts up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge or up to 21 hours in total with the charging case.

Overall, costing only RM299, the Elite 2 is definitely a good option if you want to get solid TWS earbuds on a budget.

Elite 3: the value earbuds

The Elite 3 is priced at RM389 offers decent value at a reasonable price. It costs RM90 more than the Elite 2.

Similar to the Elite 2, Elite 3 also has IP55-rated water resistance and has 6mm drivers. It also supports Qualcomm’s aptX HD audio codec and does not feature ANC.

Design-wise, the Elite 3 has an understated sleek design with rubber tips and a uniform colour scheme across the case and buds. They come in purple, light beige, dark grey, and navy blue.

To charge the earbuds, it takes 3.5 hours to get to full capacity via USB-C. You can also fast charge the buds to get 1 hour of usage with only 10 minutes in the case. The earbuds themselves can give you up to seven hours of playback, and up to 28 hours in total if you include the charging case. The only difference that we could find is that the Elite 3 has a larger battery capacity that provides 7 extra hours of playback with the charging case than the Elite 2.

Elite 7 Active: the fitness earbuds

The Elite 7 Active is built for exercise and designed to be able to stay in your ears despite large amounts of movement. This model is priced at RM899, making it right around the same price range as other premium TWS earbuds. Jabra claims that the sound experience is the same as the Elite 7 Pro, just without the extra microphone technology for high-quality calls. It also features ANC which helps to cut down unwanted background noise.

This model is able to stay in your ears better due to their ‘ShakeGrip coating’ adding more friction and grip to the tips. To protect it from sweat, the Elite 7 Active has higher IP57-rated water resistance.

Also powered by 6mm drivers, the Elite 7 Active features both adjustable ANC and HearThrough transparency mode. You can also personalise the sound output by using the Jabra Sound+ app.

In terms of battery life, the Elite 7 Active boasts 9 hours of playback on a single charge with ANC turned on and you can get a total of 35 hours with the charging case. If the claimed figures are true, the Elite 7 Active’s battery life is actually impressive as most TWS earbuds only last about four or five hours with ANC on.

Elite 7 Pro: earbuds for high-quality calls

These earbuds are designed to have “ultimate call clarity”. Priced at RM999, the Elite 7 Pro has a MultiSensor Voice system that is not featured on the other models. This system uses a bone conduction system and four microphones to capture your voice with better clarity. According to Jabra, it wants to “reinvent” TWS with this new system.

When it comes to sound and functionality, this model is identical to the Elite 7 Active, also including adjustable ANC and transparency mode.

With ANC turned on, Jabra claims that the Elite 7 Pro can provide 9 hours of playback from the buds alone and a total of 35 hours including the charging case. Battery life with ANC turned off has not been published yet.

The Elite 7 Pro comes in black, gold beige, and titanium black, in a design made by looking at 62,000 unique ear scans and finding the optimal fit. This model is also IP57-rated, which means it is protected against dust and low-pressure jets of water.
