COVID-19 vaccine update: Fake vaccine certificates and when are you considered fully vaccinated?

In case you didn’t know, we have a weekly COVID-19 vaccine Malaysia update where we highlight the latest developments of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as the National Immunisation Programme. Running for more than 20 weeks now, the series is aimed at answering all of your questions and concerns about the vaccination programme so that you can make an informed decision.

For this week’s update, we will cover several topics including the definition of “Fully Vaccinated” and the recent sale of physical vaccination cards which are actually not issued or recognised by the authorities.

For those who are wondering if vaccines are helping us to return back to normal, we can look at Sarawak, which has one of the highest completed vaccination rates. Sarawak has reproted a significant drop in hospitalisation, ICU cases and deaths due to COVID after more than 55% of its total population have gotten two doses.
