COVID-19: 211 deaths and 20,780 cases today, 6 states outside Klang Valley record over 1,000 cases each

Malaysia has recorded 20,780 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 1,320,547. This is the second-highest number of new cases recorded in a single day. There are 211 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 11,373.

The Ministry of Health has reported 17,973 new recoveries and a total of 1,075,816 patients have recovered and been discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81.47% while the mortality rate is now 0.86%.

There are currently 233,358 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 1,053 are in ICU while 546 require respiratory support.

Out of the 20,780 new cases today, 15 are imported while 20,765 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 6,921 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,065 cases, Johor with 1,693 cases, Kedah with 1,534 cases and Sabah with 1,514 cases.
