Huawei Malaysia has announced that there will soon be another of their tablets in Malaysia, the Huawei MatePad 11. Powered by a flagship-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 system-on-chip, they will officially be launching it later this month on the 27th of July.

The Snapdragon 865 chipset will be mated to 6GB of RAM and either 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage. You could also add on external storage via a microSD card, with support for up to an extra 1TB of storage. Being a Huawei device does mean that you won’t get Google Mobile Services on the MatePad 11. Instead, it’ll come with Huawei’s own HarmonyOS 2 and Huawei AppGallery.

As for the display, it will have a 10.95-inch, 16:10 IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and an 86% screen-to-body ratio. The screen also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals as well as TUV Rheinland Dual certification for an eye-friendly display. Meanwhile, there’s stylus support too with Huawei’s M-Pencil stylus. Alternatively you can use the multi-window feature and get the optional Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard if you prefer a laptop-like setup.

The Huawei MatePad 11 will have a 13MP rear camera as well as an 8MP front camera. Huawei have also put in a quad-speaker system that’s been tuned by Harmon Kardon into this tablet which should allow for good audio relative to its size. Continuing with the audio setup, there’s four microphones built into the device and comes with AI noise reduction tech too. You won’t find a 3.5mm audio jack on it though.

Other features include a 7250mAh battery with 22.5W quickcharge support via USB-C. There won’t be any SIM card slot on the MatePad 11, so no LTE or 5G network. However, there is WiFi 6 and Bluetooh 5.1 connectivity as well as Huawei’s wireless screen projection. There’s also three colourways available, which are Olive Green, Matte Grey and Isle Blue.

As mentioned earlier, the MatePad 11 will officially launch in Malaysia on the 27th of July. While the local pricing isn’t available just yet, we do know that this tablet is out in China now starting at RMB 2,499 for the 64GB variant, which is approximately RM1,635.69. In the meantime, you can check out more about the tablet on Huawei’s website.
