COVID-19: 10,972 new cases and 129 deaths today, total active cases approaching 130,000 mark

Malaysia has recorded 10,972 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 927,533. There are 129 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 7,148.

The Ministry of Health has reported 6,439 new recoveries and a total of 791,388 patients have recovered and been discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.32% while the mortality rate is now 0.77%.

There are currently 128,997 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 915 are in ICU while 435 require respiratory support.

Out of the 10,972 new cases today, 48 are imported while 10,924 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 4,404 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 1,340 cases, Johor with 876 cases and Kedah with 705 cases.
