COVID-19: 77 deaths and 6,387 new cases today, active cases rose to 69,447 with 923 in ICU

Malaysia has recorded 6,387 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 785,039. There are 77 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 5,574.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,532 new recoveries and a total of 710,018 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.44% while the mortality rate is now 0.71%.

There are currently 69,447 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 923 are in ICU while 433 require respiratory support.

Out of the 6,387 new cases today, 26 are imported while 6,361 are transmitted locally. Selangor still tops the list with 2,610 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 819 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 523 cases and Sarawak with 424 cases.

There are 13 new clusters identified today and 11 are workplace-related. Below is the breakdown by states:
