Earlier this month, a new entry-level DJI drone with the name DJI Mini SE was spotted on sale in the US, without any fanfare from the Chinese dronemaker. Now, we’re seeing the Mini SE available for purchase in Malaysia too.

The DJI Flagship Store on Lazada has a listing for the DJI Mini SE, with the base model costing RM1,349. This includes the drone, its controller, a battery pack, a spare pair of propellers and control sticks, a Micro-USB cable, a communication USB-C cable, a gimbal protector, three RC cables and six spare screws.

You can also get it as part of a ‘Fly More Combo’ for RM1,829, which gets you everything above plus an extra two battery packs and spare propellers, 18 spare screws, screwdriver, carrying bag and a two-way charging hub.

We’re also seeing the base model and combo bundle on sale for the same price on SenQ’s website. Incidentally, the Lazada listing on the DJI Flagship Store has up to 10 different variants on sale, where you can get the base or combo option with extra accessories such as an extra battery pack or carrying bag.

Mini SE — RM 1,349

Mini SE Combo — RM 1,829

Mini SE + 128GB SD Card — RM 1,456

Mini SE Combo + 128GB SD Card — RM 1,563

Mini Se + Battery — RM 1,588

Mini SE Combo + Battery — RM 2,068

Mini SE + Prop Guard — RM 1,428

Mini SE Combo + Prop Guard — RM 1,908

Mini SE + Bag — RM 1,518

Mini SE Combo + Bag — RM 1,998

As a recap, the DJI Mini SE seems to be a rebrand of the 2019 DJI Mavic Mini drone. It has the same key specs such as a 3-axis gimbal setup with 2.7k video capture, 30 mins of fly time and a 2.5-mile wireless range. The Mini SE and Mavic Mini weigh the same too at 249g. The new entry-level drone does feature some cosmetic changes however. You can check out a side-by-side comparison of the DJI Mini SE and DJI Mavic Mini below:

Left: DJI Mini SE. Right: DJI Mavic Mini.

While it’s not the best offering from DJI—it crucially lacks Ocusync for long range flying and DJI’s advance collision avoidance system—the Mini SE isn’t too shabby for those looking to get into drones. That being said, DJI also lists the original Mavic Mini for cheaper, with the standalone model priced at RM1,199 while the Mavic Mini Fly More Combo costs RM 1,499. With virtually the same features, it may be a better deal as it appears to be heavily discounted from its original price of RM1,599 standalone and RM1,999 for the bundle.

You can find both the DJI Mini SE and Mavic Mini on the DJI Flagship Store.
