COVID-19: 5,738 cases today, both Selangor and Negeri Sembilan record over 1,000 cases each

Malaysia has recorded 5,738 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 678,764. There are 60 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 4,202.

The Ministry of Health has reported 7,530 new recoveries and a total of 608,465 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 89.64% while the mortality rate is now 0.62%.

There are currently 66,097 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 909 are in ICU while 441 require respiratory support.

Out of the 5,738 new cases today, 3 are imported while 5,735 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,858 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 1,086 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 641 cases and Sarawak with 559 cases.

A total of 25 new clusters have been identified today and 20 are workplace-related clusters. Below is the full list of new clusters:
