Malaysia has recorded 5,419 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 667,876. There are 101 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 4,069.
The Ministry of Health has reported 6,831 new recoveries and a total of 593,695 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 88.89% while the mortality rate is at 0.61%.
There are currently 70,112 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 922 are in ICU while 450 require respiratory support.
Out of the 5,419 new cases today, 6 are imported while 5,413 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,996 cases, followed by Sarawak with 718 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 650 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 396 cases.
