Malaysia has recorded 6,241 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 616,815. There are 87 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 3,378.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5,133 new recoveries and a total of 526,809 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.41% while the mortality rate is now 0.55%.
There are currently 86,628 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 890 are in ICU while 444 require respiratory support.
Out of the 6,241 new cases today, 4 are imported while 6,237 are transmitted locally. Selangor continues to record the most with 2,178 cases, followed by Sarawak with 600 cases, Johor with 565 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 556 cases.
