Malaysia has recorded 6,999 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 565,533. There are 79 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 2,729.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5,121 new recoveries and a total of 484,787 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.72% while the mortality rate is now 0.48%.
There are currently 78,017 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 846 are in ICU while 419 require respiratory support.
Out of the 6,999 new cases today, 6 are imported while 6,993 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 2,477 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 616 cases, Kelantan with 612 cases and Sarawak with 513 cases.
