Wanna join a Twitter Space? You don’t even need the app installed now

Ever since Twitter introduced its live audio chat platform Spaces – as a rival to Clubhouse – you could only really host and join a Twitter Space if you’ve been using the official Twitter app on iOS and Android. That is, until now.

Twitter has recently announced that users can now join a Space using a web browser, be it on your desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet. There is a small caveat though – as Space’s availability on browsers remain in beta, you can only join a Space that’s already in session. This means that for the time being at least, if you want to start and host your own Twitter Space room, you’re still going to have to use the app.

It has to be said though that we saw this coming, as Twitter had already mentioned that they were working on this back in April. This feature also comes after the social media platform had made Spaces available to the any user with over 600 followers earlier this month. There’s no word just yet on Twitter Spaces being available on iPad and Mac apps, but they had already said that they were working on it too.

So will you guys be using Twitter Spaces now that it’s becoming more available? Or is Clubhouse still your audio chat platform of choice? Let us know!
