Mi TV Q1: Xiaomi’s 75″ 4K 120Hz QLED TV has arrived in Malaysia, priced at RM7,999

After a 7 year wait, Xiaomi is officially bringing in its Smart TVs for the Malaysian market. Today, they have introduced two TV series and the top-of-the-line model is the 75″ Mi TV Q1 that uses a 4K QLED panel.

Pricing and availability

The Mi TV Q1 is officially priced at RM7,999 in Malaysia and you can pre-order starting from the 6th June 2021. It will be available via Lazada and through Mi Stores, Senheng and other authorised retailers.

Mi TV Q1 75″ customers will get 1-month free membership for WeTV and iQIYI streaming platforms. For a limited time, Xiaomi is also offering additional freebies worth RM1,765 on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last. This includes the Mi Air Purifier Pro H, Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini, Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K, Mi Body Composition Scale 2 and Mi WiFi Range Extender Pro.

Hardware Specs

The Mi TV Q1 features a “borderless design” with ultra-thin bezels for the top and sides. The QLED panel uses Quantum dot-based LED which boasts 192-zone full-array local dimming which promises deeper blacks and whiter whites.

The screen pushes a 4K UHD resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and 1.07 billion colours. It also offers a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 100% NTSC colour gamut, 1000nits of peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate using MEMC. It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

Despite having an HDMI 2.1 port, the spec sheet mentions that it doesn’t support 4K 120fps content decoding input. Instead, it will upscale the content to output 120fps using MEMC.

The Mi TV Q1 runs on Android TV 10 and you can enjoy apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube. It also supports Chromecast and Miracast for direct streaming from your other devices.

The TV has a built-in mic that can pick up your voice from 3 metres. It supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and you can control your content and smart appliances by saying “OK, Google”. For greater privacy, there’s a physical switch at the bottom of the screen to mute the microphone.

For audio, it gets dual speakers with a large sound cavity that consists of four woofers and two tweeters. The TV supports Dolby Audio and DTS-HD for a cinematic experience.

Powering the device is a quad-core MediaTek MT9611 chip with a Mali G52 MP2 GPU. It also comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

In terms of connectivity, the Q1 has 3x HDMI ports (1x HDMI 2.1 eARC, 2x HDMI 2.0), 2x USB 2.0 ports, a LAN port, an optical port for audio, DVB-T2 Digital TV tuner, AV input and 3.5mm jack. The TV also supports 5GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
