The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are officially announced in Malaysia. This is OnePlus’ latest flagship smartphone lineup that runs on a 5nm Snapdragon 888 processor and features Hasselblad co-developed cameras.

Here’s the official pricing for the OnePlus 9 series in Malaysia:
The first sale for both devices is happening online on the 18th May 2021. The OnePlus 9 will be available on the official online store on Shopee, while the Pro model is offered via Lazada. If you prefer to get it from a physical store, the OnePlus 9 will be available at all authorised OnePlus outlets from the 22nd May 2021.
As an early bird promo, the OnePlus 9 will come with a free OnePlus Buds Z during its first day sales and you also get a free 1+1 year warranty. For the OnePlus 9 Pro, the device is offered with a Fans Special Gift Bundle which comes with a pair of OnePlus Buds, OnePlus Warp Charge 65 Power Adapter, OnePlus Warp Charge 50 Wireless Charger and a OnePlus 9 Pro Karbon Bumper case.
In terms of colours, the OnePlus 9 is only offered in Astral Black while the OnePlus 9 Pro is available only in Morning Mist.
The OnePlus 9 comes with a flat 6.55″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that pushes a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with 5G support that’s configured with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage.
In the camera department, the device features a triple-camera setup with a 48MP f/1.8 main camera (Sony IMX689), a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera (Sony IMX766) and a 2MP monochrome camera. The tiny punch-hole on the screen houses a 16MP selfie shooter.
The device features dual stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos but it doesn’t come with a headphone jack. Apart from 5G support, it also supports dual-frequency GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 and 802.11ax WiFi 6 with 2×2 MIMO support.
The OnePlus 9 gets a 4,500mAh battery which supports 65W Warp Charge via USB-C. It also supports wireless charging at 15W.
OnePlus 9 Pro
The OnePlus 9 Pro is the higher-spec model of the two. Upfront, it gets a larger 6.7″ dual-curved AMOLED display that pushes a Quad HD+ resolution. Similar to the standard model, it also pushes a high 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, it also runs on the same Snapdragon 888 processor with 5G. It is also offered with a configuration of 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage. In the camera department, the Pro model gets a more versatile quad-camera setup.
The main 48MP shooter uses a Sony IMX789 sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) while it retains the same 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera (Sony IMX766) and 2MP monochome camera. However, you do get an extra 8MP telephoto camera that comes with optical image stabilisation. The device also gets a 16MP selfie camera that sits in a punch-hole in the screen.
The rest of the specs are similar to the standard model. You also get a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging via USB-C. However, it does support faster wireless charging at 50W. Out of the box, it runs on Android 11 with OxygenOS skin on top.
