MOT: Masjid Jamek, KLCC and KL Sentral stations remain open despite being on HIDE list

Despite being listed premises under the HIDE system, three of Kuala Lumpur’s main rail stations will remain operational. This was announced by the Ministry of Transport, following the National Security Council’s order that all HIDE listed premises must shut down immediately for a period of 3 days between 9 to 11th May 2021.

The KLCC, Masjid Jamek and KL Sentral stations will continue to remain open. However, all commercial businesses at the premises are ordered to close.

According to the official statement, public transport is essential to the country especially for frontliners that depend on its continuous operation during the movement control order. It also added that all public transport stations must remain open for the purpose of transporting and delivering essential items in the event of an emergency.

All stations are also equipped with thermal scanners and there is strict SOP in place to curb the spread of COVID-19. As mentioned by Transport Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong last week, police permission is required for interstate travel during the MCO and those going to work must present their authorisation letters when requested.

The HIDE list which was shared by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation yesterday has included a number of popular malls around the country. This includes 1 Utama, Mid Valley Megamall, Pavilion, My Town, KL Eco City Mall, Fahrenheit 88, Suria KLCC, Publika Shopping Gallery, Plaza Low Yat, Sungai Wang Plaza and Sunway Velocity.
