COVID-19: 3,744 new cases and 17 new deaths today, active cases almost breach 33,000 mark

Malaysia has recorded 3,744 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 424,376. There are 17 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,591.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,304 new recoveries and a total of 389,846 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate has dipped to 91.86% while the mortality rate remains at 0.37%.

There are currently 32,939 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 328 are in ICU while 185 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,744 new cases today, 7 are imported while 3,737 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,548 new cases, followed by Kelantan with 480 cases, Sarawak with 419 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 313 cases.
