COVID-19: 2,776 new cases today, Selangor and Sarawak both record over 600 cases

Malaysia has recorded 2,776 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 395,718. There are 13 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,449.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,803 new recoveries and a total of 369,556 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 93.39% while the mortality rate remains at 0.37%.

There are currently 24,713 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 300 are in ICU while 133 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,776 new cases today, 3 are imported while 2,773 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most today with 762 cases, followed by Sarawak with 615 cases, Kelantan with 343 cases and Johor with 309 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 12 new clusters today. Below is the list of newly identified clusters:

A total of 64 clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases. The Jalan Raja Bukit Pasir recorded the most with 148 cases, followed by Kampung Batu Sembilan cluster with 52 cases and Tanjung Kupang construction site cluster with 41 cases.
