COVID-19: New cases jump to 2,875 today, both Kelantan and Selangor record over 600 cases

Malaysia has recorded 2,875 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 384,688. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,407.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,541 new recoveries and a total of 361,267 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate has dip slightly to 93.91% while the mortality rate remains at 0.37%.

There are currently 22,014 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 248 are in ICU while 115 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,875 new cases today, 29 are imported while 2,846 are transmitted locally. Kelantan recorded the most with 662 cases, followed by Selangor with 633 cases, Sarawak with 474 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 332 cases.
