COVID-19: Over 2,000 new cases recorded for 6 straight days, total active cases now over 21,000

Malaysia has recorded 2,341 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 379,473. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,389.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,592 new recoveries and a total of 356,816 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 94.03% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 21,268 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 249 are in ICU while 95 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,341 new cases today, 7 are imported while 2,334 are transmitted locally. Sarawak continues to record the most today with 600 cases, followed by Selangor with 539 cases, Kelantan with 429 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 344 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 7 new clusters today.
